    Default Transfering Standalone AutoCAD license

I need to transfer a Standalone AutoCAD license from an old user to a new user.
I guess I would use the Portable license utility to move between computers however,
both computers are not available at the same time.
When I make an export file do I need to know at that time the new computer Name,ID?

Yes you need both to create the transfer file.

However, they do not need to be available at the same time. The needed data can be generated at separate times. Please read the help files on the PLU. They are rather good.

The way I read this is:
I can export this license today to a text file which now makes AutoCAD unusable on this computer (Which is not a problem).
On monday after I load the trial software on the new users computer, I should be able to import this text file and transfer the license.
I hate to show my ignorance but what is the PLU?

Mike, I'm not sure, since it has been years since I ran the PLU, but I think the original workstation needs data about the new workstation.

Duh! I knew that. I just didn't connect the dots.

I think I may have a way around this.
We are on subscription and I haven't installed 2009 on the old machine so I will just install 2009 for the new user and remove 2008 from the old users machine.

    Robert,
Thank you so much for your help and also to member acote for your input. It's good to have a place to go to to get help.

Untill I can pay it forward thanks again
