Using Autocad MEP 2009 with all the updates. I am trying to insert some flat oval duct fittings, but they do not seem to exist. Have tried to create my own, but seem to be having some issues with crashes and other errors. At one time there was a content builder webcast which is no longer available. I think Laura Gutwillig did the webcast (could be totally wrong). I cannot find another content builder webcast with all the specific steps for creating a parametric part.
I have perused the forums and do not find anyone complaining about the lack of flat oval fittings, so I wonder if they really exist in the library and I just can't locate them. Specifically I am looking for the following parts:
Flat Oval Bellmouth - to connect to a rectangular supply plenum coming from the air handling unit.
Flat Oval Wye Fitting - what I can find in the library is about 10 feet long (not suitable)
Flat Oval Cross - straight cross, conical cross & lo-loss cross with a ROUND BRANCH
Flat Oval Tee - straight cross, conical cross and lo-loss cross with a ROUND BRANCH
I have tried using a flat oval tee with the branch outlet having the same dimensions. (For instance, 35x26 flat oval tee with a 14x14 branch tap, hoping the program would recognize the branch as round, but the program wants to add a transition from 14x14 flat oval to 14 inch round.
Does anyone else have these issues? Or is it just that I don't know where to look for flat oval fittings?
I have attached PDF files for the specific fittings I am looking for. Although not indicated on the cut sheet for the tees, the branch outlets may be round just like the crosses.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
