    Default Profil of a pond

    Hi
I have made a pond, with gradings... and to calculate volume of the pond I created infill. So far so good... but when I createt profile, and used the pond an EG surface, I noticed that the bottom of the pond dosent match with the terrain... it is 40cm - 1m lower ...and yes I dit let the feature line follow the terrain.

    regards
    fusi

Is your profile along this feature line? Or does is cross the pond in another place?

The infill area connected the elevation points of your feature line with triangles. You're existing grade surface likely has more definitition in this area resulting in the difference.

In your picture I see two sets of gray contours. The solid and the dashed. It also appears there may be a 3rd set or the solid contours or the solid set splits. Either way since these contours don't overlap each other your surfaces are not at the same elevations in those areas and a profile view similar to what you show should be expected.

The difference lies within the definitiion of the infill area.

With your feature line that created the infill there are only elevation points along the feature line. With no data in the middle c3d connects those feature line elevation points with TIN lines to create the surface. If you want it to match the EG then you should add definition into the infill area. Most likely points will work best for this. I'd add them directly over the EG points. You can see these TIN points by turning them on in the style.
