Default Editting a 2015 model in 2016 and sending it back to 2015

I am not experienced in synchronizing models and would appreciate any and all advice.

My company runs Revit 2016 and we were hired to edit a model from another designer and send it back to them.
When I opened the file I received an Upgrading Local File notice that once upgraded, the file can't be synchronized back.

Is there a way I can work on this file and get it back to 2015?

    Thank you.Capture1-31-2017-11.36.52 AM1-31-2017-4.17.19 PM.jpg

Not without significant workarounds and loss of data. Revit is not backwards compatible, so once it's upgraded and saved, you can't open it in an earlier version.
It requires a very unusual mind to undertake the analysis of the obvious.

As Kimberly said, the general answer is "no", but you very likely have the rights to install Revit 2015 (unless your company is not on subscription). I'd highly recommend just doing that.
