Default Tracking Changes in your model

Here's an interesting use of the element override to see what has been added since your last inspection of the model:

    * Setup a 3D work view of your model with all phases turned on.
    * Select everything in your view... Right Click... Hide in view...
    Elements.
    * This will hide everything giving you an "empty" view.
    * As people add model objects to the project these model objects
will start poping up in your "empty" view.
    * Check this work view at the end of the day to see what has been
    added to the model.

What we really need is a 3d view that will show us anything that has been added, edited or removed since our last inspection of the same 3D view. A progress capture view if you will.

Copy monitor only works for walls, floor, columns, grid, levels as far as I know.

David, what have you been drinking?! Great "out of the box" thinking! Excellent tip.

    That is very creative!
I'm sure someone will poke around with API and set up some sort of 'element by date' filter for the view. I nominate you David B.
    Thanks for posting.

If the flight gets delayed some more, I'll start learning the API

    Great tip.

By the way, why can't we have a "selected objects counter"? It would be so handy to know how many of the objects are selected/highlighted... and so simple (I think) to implement...

An API tool exists, although I have to agree that it needs to be in Revit's core tools.

A filter by time stamp showing everything added or modified since a specified date would be handy for seeing progress of the model in a 3D section box view. I wonder if Revit timestamps elements every time a change is made. In addition to a time stamp, a user stamp might come in handy for visualizing, by color, who made the last change to an element.
