Label in Electrical Fixture family - Revit 2008

I accidentally posted this in Revit Structure. Hopefully it'll get a few more hits here:

Hi,

I'm trying to create a custom Electrical GFI Outlet from the OOTB Outlet GFI family and have the label show in elevation as opposed to plan, but for some reason I don't have the option to insert the label in an elevation view. Is there a setting I need to check to allow me to do this?

Make and use an Generic Annotation Family place in elevation to show this label... that is how the label and 2D representation (including any filled regions you might have) are shown in the floor plan view (or at least thats how they are in my default family, we've modified them a bit)

If this works, great, but I don't think you can have labels show up in elevations. See the documentation.

You might not be able to have a label show up, but turn that label into a tag, and all will be good. I have a casework tag I use in plan & elevation no problem. It attaches itself to the casework and reads the parameters of that family.
