Question Problems adding Express Tools to the Ribbon

I've found several explanations online on how to do this. They are all the same. After downloading the revised acetmain.cui file:

Copy the unzipped acetmain.cui file to your AutoCAD support folder (making a backup copy of the original version) - e.g.: C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Application Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2009\R17.2\enu\Support (WinXP)
    or
    C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2009\R17.2\enu\Support (Vista)
Run AutoCAD 2009 and start the CUI command
In the top left panel, switch to the current workspace, so that its contents is displayed in the right panel:

Click on the "Customize Workspace" button (turns blue)
In the left panel, expand the tree "Partial CUI files" > EXPRESS
Check the box by the "Ribbon Tabs" item
In the top right panel, click the "Done" button and end the CUI dialog with OK

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've done this several times, tried resaving my workspace, restarted '09 and I still cannot get it to take. After I've checked the box for the express tools and click 'ok', it constantly reverts back to being unchecked.

    What am I doing wrong?

Just tried it myself and got the same outcome, it doesn't take.

I'd be interested in anyone's solutions.

CWJean you may want to try posting this question in the CUI Forum http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=209

    Maybe they can help

I also have done everything mentioned above and yet the ribbon tab
    doesn't show the express tools.
Does anyone have any solutions as I'm going insane trying to get Express tools
to display on the ribbon tab.
I've played around with the CUI but nothing seems to work.

I just put everything in one area creating my own express tab using a custom flyout for all the tools, it seems to have worked just fine. After seeing it can be done, I'm going to add a panel/flyout for each submenu

I've attempted to do the same. However, it doesn't want to seem to allow me to add a panel or flyouts to my ribbon. How did you accomplish this?

    Eureka!

I opened your CUI in the Transfer Tab and dragged your panels in the Ribbon Panels

Then I created a new Ribbon Tab called Express and dragged the panels in and Vola' it worked.

    Very kewl
