mtext copy paste size limit

Is there a limit to the amount of words mtext has for copying and pasting from another mtext in another drawing? When I copy and paste a large amount of text the receiving mtext object truncates the text. It does not paste the entire amount of text I copied.

I thought it was 256 characters, or 1000, but it might be a certain size (kb)
