Where is my Layer List

I have lost the layer list menu at the top of my interface that lets me see what layer I am working on with out going into my layer manager. Does anybody know how to get it back?

Restore the default UI is the quickest way

Also, you can go to Customize > Show UI > Show Main Toolbar, or hit ALT-6.
