    Red face Match Properties

    Hello All,

I have a problem with a specific file. If I start a new file and do a match properties on a viewport and apply it to another viewport, it works. In this specific file it does not. The settings for the MP tool are the same in both places. Any ideas? I feel like there was a setting that affected this, but I can't remember it.

    Thanks
    Mark

Is it not saving the match or is it not even changing it in the active session?

If it's not saving the match and you are referring to layer changes make sure that VISRETAIN is set to 1.

It's not changing in the active session. Visretain is set to 1 already.

    Is your viewport locked?

Never mind this question. I just tested and the layer settings still "match" for me with locked vports.

    A few questions:
What version of AutoCAD are you using?
Are you using xrefs or is the work in the same dwg file?

What are you trying to "match" on the viewports?

(if this is a 2008 layer states per viewport thing, I can't help you...sorry)

Is this a rectangular viewport or irregular viewport? An easy way to tell would be to pick it and look at the top of the properties palette. Does it say All (2)? If so, it is an irregular viewport and I don't think Match Properties will work on it.
