Default Pasted object come in on Bound layers

    Hi All-

I ran into a peculiar problem which I have never seen or heard of before. When I copyclip from one drawing to another in AutoCAD 2009, the object layers come in with a bound layer extension. I have checked the original drawing file to make sure that layers are not bound and they are not. Has anyone experienced this problem and how do I fix it? Thanks in advance.

When I paste as block from the clipboard it does not change the layer.

Does the block your pasting contain an xref? Does this happen with all pasted blocks? Try copying a circle to the clipboard and then pasting it as a block.
