Part name for Wire in Harness Bill of Materials

Hello ,its me again!

Is there a way when doing a bill off material for a harness to have it not put the ".wirename" after a wire's description?

For instance we use a part number, E201-000111 for a certain wire type, and when i use that in a harness assembly it wants a name for the wire, which i calle "wire one".

when i do a bill of materials for the harness, it has the partnumber as "E201-000111.wire one".

If thats what the partnumber ends up being, , ok, but is there a way that when i do a bom in a idw of the whole assembly, i can have it do just the E201-000111?

For our specific situation, we append our nothing parts (those that are too insignificant to get their own part numbers) ~1, ~2 and so forth, but we usually have a raw stock code these are cut from, much like I assume you have with wires. What would probably be easiest is to have the stock code under the stock number field (so it isn't affected by a copy design or save as) and set a BOM to display the stock number rather than the part number.

Hopefully you don't need to use combinations of stock and part numbers in your BOM, but if you do, I can walk you through what we do there too.
