I have a few dozen 2007 version DWG files that I need to save as 2004 version DWG files. Is there an easy (automated) method for this, instead of opening/saving one at a time? Thanks in advance.

Download DWG Trueview - it includes a tool to do batch conversions.

If you use eTransmit for your dwgs, there is an option to convert the copies to another version.
Yup, eTransmit is the way to go!!!
And then (if using SAVEAS or eTransmit) you could use ScriptPro to run a set of commands in a SCR file on multiple drawings. So the few dozen could become one instruction (without that huge DWGTrueView download).
