    Question Cut Geometry Frustrations

I am modeling stair stringers and having a rough time with the Cut Geometry tool. I have a sloping steel HSS beam connecting to a header. I want to cut the sloping beam verticaly to be flush with the header. I cut a section, drew my reference plane and Cut Geometry. In section view it creates a line but does not delete the extra part of the beam. I switch to 3D view and the beam looks fine. I dont know why this is happening. I have dozens of other beams cut in my model but for some reason in this one area of my model it refuses to show the beams cut in section view. Is there some setting in the section that I am missing?

I am struggling to see in the 3D view exactly where you have taken your section....

Try cutting the geometry in the section view?

I have cut my section between the 2 beams in the middle of the 3D view. As I stated in my initial post I first cut a section, then drew a reference plan, and finally cut geometry. I have done this a few dozen times in this model with no problems. Its seems to only happen in the part of the model.

    Cool Re: Cut Geometry Frustrations

Yes this problem has been frustrating me... The reason it does this is because your section or view which you created the cut in is not exactly parrallel to the member you are cutting... Hence you get a line where the cut is but the rest of the section is still visible... Another Revit bug...
