Default Editable Attributes within a Dynamic Block

How in the world can I create attributes that can be editable in a dynamic block? I created a dynamic block with 2 visibility states, each has their own set of attributes, when I close out of the block editor, the visibility states work but when I try to double click on the attributed text to edit, it just tries to open the dynamic block. It doesn't see the attributed text as editable, only sees it as one big block. I know this can be done, I did it years ago but can't remember.......any ideas?

hmmm...well interesting enough I found that it seems to work if I create a new attribute definition inside the dynamic block but existing ones I copy in there don't seem to work!?!?

    Yes!

How about this though....as I've added more visibility states and more attributed text to each state, the dynamic block seems to be getting slightly confused. Everything is working right but the prompts aren't displaying right in each visibility state. Really weird!

Are you sure the new creations and old ones are being set as visible / invisible by default as you desire? If you are, the best bet may be to wipe visibility and start that particular parameter over.
