    Default VW Bus/Kombi

    Hi everyone,
    sorry 'bout my english, I'm from Brazil, and don't use to talk other language than portuguese.

    Here are one of my AutoCAD models, it took me +-40hours from sketch to render.
    All done in AutoCAD 2009, using just a few tools, like spline, break and edgesurf, and a little bit of other stuff.
    1st image: I like to use this kind of ground to the models, it shows in render where are the deffects on it.
    2nd image: Final art made in Gimp, just a little blur and a automatic color balance. Render this image took me about 50minutes.
    3rd image: how it began.

    Let e know what you think about it.
    Suggestions are welcome, questions too... =]

    wow, thanx for da comment... =)
    How can I get better textures for the car body? All kind of tips are welcome.
    I always wanted to do some metalic paint, but with AutoCAD there's no way (at least I don't know how to do)... in 3DsMax I've read 'bout two "layers" of texture in the same material, with different shine levels...

    I like modelling more than render, but have better renders isn't a bad idea btw.

    cheers =)

    Nice work. I think the main texture work that needs to be done is on the front headlights, they are just white instead of a little transparent. Again, nice work. Remember, a good rendering involves everything, not just modeling.

    Nice work.....Kombi is one of famous classic vehicle in my country and I think it imported right from your country instead of Germany.

    about metallic paint, as long as I know ACAD have two layer material, but I never use it, so I'll find it later for you. But for easy maybe you can use photoshop to create material for metallic paint. Create a solid color - in your case is blue - then and noise ( of course arrange the value so it will look like metallic paint ) Apply that to your kombi. Hope it work.

    You use GIMP? Well, I make things with GIMP, but not much of the time though.
