Default Sending a Borrowed License to Shanghai

We have a user who forgot to borrow a license before he left for Shanghai. Because of the terrible restrictions to internet traffic in China, he is having BIG problems getting a VPN connection to function. Is there a way I can send him a borrowed license? Email? FTP server? Maybe even a temp serial number? How does he enter it if he cannot get into Autocad?

    TIA

You are probably out of luck. I have a similar problem with people going to remote construction sites. I have never found a way of sending a license to them if they forget or the license expires.

I have heard that sometimes using a cell phone for internet access can get around some restrictions.

Otherwise if you can afford it, you can convert one of your network licenses to standalone for $100 and then back to network for $1000.

If you find away to do this let me know.

Check out the Portable License Utility. Its located under Start>All Programs>Autodesk>"autocad version". You should be able to export out a license and email it to the user.

*Warning*: If your using a standalone license, then AutoCAD will stop working on the system you run the utility on until the license is returned or expired.

I really wish there was a way to do this I have spent a number of hours with people that can't get internet connections so can not get a AutoCAD licence.

If you google "convert autocad network license to standalone" a solution can be found. It involves a registry edit and well I'll leave it at that and let the other website explain.
