    Default Worksets in Linked Files

How can I turn off an entire workset from the file I have linked in?
For example - I have a structural model linked in my architectural model and I want the entrire workset named Level 3 Structure, which consist of different categories, turned off.

Any way I can do this?

Choose File > Manage Links > Pick on the Revit Tab the choose "Reload From". The down arrow next to the Open button will allow you to choose "Specify..." which will bring up the "Linking Worksets" dialog box when you press Open.

You can "unOpen" specific worksets by changing the Yes to No under the Opened column.

Just make sure you do this when no one else is in the model.

Get everyone out of the model. Back up your central file. Open the central file and use the "reload from" technique w/ selected worksets. Save-as over the original central file to recreate it. Have everyone create new locals. This will clear up the workset error message.

Worksets already loaded with a different configuration?

If your users need variable control of the linked files, you might consider Linking Local Files.

Doesnt sound to me like theyre after that. I think they want to unload that workset or make it invisible for EVERYONE, project wide. if tey venture in to that method, theyd best understand that they will ALL have to unload that workset, unless no one is printing or exporting, lol...

MC- Youre getting that message because other people had the file linked in, with the old configuration, and were in the model, WHILE you changed it. So to speak, revit was under the impression it was already loaded in a different configuration, when you were trying to make changes. When everyone is out of the project (right at the end of business), you should be able to rectify the sitch by opening revit (again), reloading that model with Reload From, specify the worksets, STC, and then make everyone get new local copies the next morning (which they should anyway).
