problem with aec objects

Can anyone point me in the right direction here? I've got a file that was created with Architectural Desktop and I have some walls and windows that I cannot alter. I need to assign these entities a particular color for our standards and vanilla CAD won't let me touch them. I CAN explode them, but I loose everything when I do that. I have already installed the aec object enabler thinking it would solve the problem....but, no dice. Any ideas?

That is not what ExportToAutoCAD does.

In vanilla AutoCAD you will probably need to use AECExportToAutoCAD since I believe that is the command name provided via the object enablers.

This command will convert AEC objects such as walls to vanilla AutoCAD objects such as lines and blocks. It also removes the AEC dictionaries.

Actually, brandenz was right. That is exactly what -exporttoautocad does. It worked great! Broke everything down to where I could work on them. Thanks! This has been an issue with us for quite some time.
