So I was browsing through the 2010 beta help system and noticed it talked about a recommended Gamma Pipeline and was floored! If its included in the shipping version I'll post it here for reference. Customer ship date is anticipated for April 8th.

If anyone wants more info about this kind of thing before ya get your hands on what Steve is talking about...Google linear workflow...or working in linear colour space, gamma correcting images/textures...that should be a good start.
It takes you directly to the Gamma Quadrant of the Milky Way galaxy. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, advance directly to Gamma Pipeline.
Sorry folks, my head has been buried in a help system and other technically boring documents too long. I forgot not to think everyone speaks the same language as the help system. I've been seeing lots of people make posts about Gamma correction in MAX and the newbie says "Whats that?". A Gamma Pipeline helps layout a process for achieving this. In the industry, "Pipeline" can and often does refer to a process or workflow to get from point A to B.
Doesn't a properly calibrated monitor and color space achieve this effect without using big words?
Ah, I see now... I'll have to look into that. Thanks.
Hehehehe!!! I feel like a school kid again! New software!
As promised, here is the document I mentioned.
