    Default Graphics card

I just purchased Inventor and havn't downloaded it yet as it was suggested to upgrade my video card. I currently have a Radeon x1650 with a quad core 32bit 2400Mhz processor with 4gigs of ram and XP Pro. I am thinking of installing Vista Business 64bit with 8gigs of RAM. The recomendation was to go to a HP Quadro FX 1700. I am sure this would be a better card but with the cost I was wondering if I would be to bad off staying with my current card?

The Quadro FX 1700 is what I run now, and you're right, it's a good card.

However, I don't see any harm in trying Inventor on your current configuration first. If it doesn't work out, worst that can happen is you have to reinstall inventor with the new operating system.
