    Default change pgp file

the more fast way in changing pgp file is deleting the commands in the file CTRL+A then Delete then paste your custom pgp file.
after that use command Reinit and make mark in box PGP FILE
    i use this method always
remark:your custom pgp that you saved it in another other than C partition because of C partition repeat format

If you are going to replace the entire contents of the file, why even open it? Just take your file where it's stored and copy it into place overwriting the existing one.

Better yet, create your own "custom" directory to hold things like this, and put this path at the TOP of your support file search path. This way you'll never have to wonder where all you custom files are, and no more copy/pasting at upgrade or reinstall time. More details: http://cadpanacea.com/node/34

Not with the "Ctrl+A" in there. You now have an empty file.

So Mr. McSwain has a valid point, why go in to the existing PGP file, go through the trouble of CTRL+A, deleting the contents, and pasting your new PGP information?

Simply replace the old (existing) acad.pgp with YOUR revised acad.pgp in the proper directory using windows explorer or even a saveas?

This is a bogus tip and shouldn't even be posted, since it is misleading.

The bottom section of the out-of-the-box Acad.pgp is meant for user edits. Since alias definitions are last-defined-wins, any user can "overwrite" the stock aliases by simply ignoring the stock definition earlier in the file and just place their own definition at the bottom of the file.

DO NOT delete the stock definitions: there is no need to do so.

Yea, I think we ALL agree with that.

I think the theory is that one may have an edited PGP file (with all the "stock" out of the box alias's and commmnads intact) but with added alias's and other commands.

With that said.. the real tip here that you can replace the old unedited PGP with the new and improved one via Windows explorer.

Another additonal tip: is to save a copy of the OOTB pgp somewhere if you need to it.
