Default Objects co-planar to ceiling invisible when printing

I've run into this a couple of times now.

The first time I noticed it was when I had created some custom light fixtures and forgotten to put a void into the family to cut the ceiling. The fixtures would show up fine on my screen without a void cut but when I would go to print they wouldn't show up on the printed page or .pdf. Adding the void to the family fixed this.

Now i'm running into this again with a linked mechanical model which has some diffusers and returns that are coplanar to the ceiling and they look fine on the screen but don't print. Am I missing some way to get the linked model to cut the ceiling and therefore display properly? Or do I have to go through and place diffusers into the architectural model?

Are your refelected Ceiling plans set to Architectural or Coordination, and does this make a difference?

Scott, thanks for taking the time to respond. I checked that right after reading your response and it didn't seem to make any difference.

We were able to get around the problem by printing from a computer that had more memory. I'm not 100% sure that's the reason the first print didn't turn out properly, but I didn't have time to troubleshoot further than since we were printing for bid. Anyways, if anyone else has this trouble try printing from another computer if possible and see if that sorts it out.

I have seen this kind of thing before and it tends to be the print driver. It could be the driver that the computer thinks it should use rather than the network driver or if you don't have a network driver it could be that you need to update the computer in question.

    Just a thought.
