This is most likely your problem/solution
This error message is from the Autodesk® License Manager (AdLM); it indicates the license server either has not been started, or is not properly configured.
To resolve this problem, work through the following troubleshooting suggestions:
* Properly configure the FLEXlm® service
* Start the license server.
* Review the license file contents for any corruption or incorrect server information.
* Check the status of the license server to ensure that the AdLM has started. If the AdLM has started, a line similar to the following is displayed at the bottom of the status inquiry results (in the LMTOOLS dialog box, Server Status tab, click Status Inquiry):
This should return the license server status.
At the vary least performing these steps will verify that the license server is UP
and functioning correctly. While there verify that it is configured to run as a SERVICE.
Also verify through the status report that you are not requesting more licenses than you
have.

Help.
I work from home on weekends with a checked out license on my laptop. Sometimes 2009 works fine, but then eventually it hits this error message when opening and there's no fixing it. I have adjusted my flexlm time setting up to 6000000 or 6 secs and that hasn't helped either - although it seemed to help to increase it at the office.
Any thoughts for checked-out applications?
