Pline as repeating detial in Revit??

What is the best way to draw thick dashed pline in revit? For example, we have a site model and i want to show access routes in plan view. In CAD world, we use colored dashed plines to show this on top of site plan. In Revit world i am thinking to use repeating detail tool to draw dashed Pline. But I cant figure out how to change color of the Pline repeating detail. I am creating a detail family with Dash length and thickness as parameters. It works fine except changing color.

Perhaps a dashed model line iwth a thickness of 10-12?

We want to export them to autocad too. If we export model line to autocad, we loose their thicknesses if used with .ctb. Am i right? Hence i was thinking to approach this using repeating details with solid filled rectangular box.

I think the drafting method is the way forward. Its annotation on a view after all, i.e. do it the same way as in 2D cad.. keep it simple. Easily changed once exported to give it a thickness..
