is it possible to save a 3D DWF to a 3D DWG?

I don't think there is a way to convert dwf to dwg, but if there is I would like to know about it. Unless there is another way, at one time the dwf was a dwg, and some one should have the dwg.

A DWF is usually created as a method of protecting intellectual property rights. Probably the easiest method is to request a dwg from the owner of the intellectual property.
Plain old 2D DWF files are fairly trivial to convert back to DWG, but of course a lot is lost in the original conversion to DWF, which you won't get back going to DWG.... but for 3D, it would depend on how the data is stored in the DWF file... which I'm not sure about...
To andrewp, this may be of some interest.

Okay... Got a 3D CAD Drawing created from the STP file... now trying to load it into SketchUp... Stuck on 99%... Anything i can do in AutoCAD to make it a less complex drawing?
There are some DWF to DWG converters & do the 3d drawing conversion. ie. Auto DWG
You can do a google.
PS. Does anyone know if there is a free DWF to STP convent or? Thanks.
you can, sort of, use navisworks to convert a DWF to DWG. although this would be via an FBX file. i.e. append DWF to navis, export FBX, in AutoCAD import FXB.
