3 Point Align Command not working

this morning one of my techs went to align images to a grid and the 3 point align command just bugged out - no error message, it just exits out and only rotates and moves the image, it will not scale. the 2 point align command works fine (it rotates, moves and scales) but just can't get 3 point to work. i was curious so opened raster design on my machine - to my surprise, i had the same results. the 3 point align command will not scale the image. this is something new - the align command worked last week - anybody know what's going on?
