Default AutoCAD 2000 Hardware Locked - Can I install on more than one computer

    Hello everybody

I am using Hardware Locked Version of AutoCAD 2000 and I have one license. Can I install this on more than one machine, since it is hardware locked, at any time only one person with the hardware lock installed can use this. Is this legal according to Autodesk. There seems to be no mention about this in the license agreement ( I am in India). Please clarify. I do not personally see any violation as the other machine without the hardware lock cannot be used. But I do not know the legal opinion of Autodesk regarding this.

    Thanks in advance

    With best regards

PLU for Acad 2000? no such beast

I can see no problem moving the hardware lock from machine to machine, and installing the software on as machine machines as you like. After all, only one instance can be running, and the rest of the installs are no more than redundant backups.

Of course, that's a rather old version of the software, if you need additional concurrent instances running,, you'll either have to upgrade, which would _really_ be new purchase, or install one of the alternatives, such as the free-for-commercial-use Draftsight.

I agree entirely. I've done this many times with older versions.

HOWEVER - depending on your operating system and make of dongle (hardware lock) - probably Sentinel - you may have have port driver software problems. Check the dongle manufacturer site.

I wonder how many in here know what a dongle is.

Wish I had a picture of the sign from a previous employer. Since dongles needed to be signed out for use, close to the exit was a sign: "Please check your dongle at the door."

There was a conversation in a drawing office:
    What is a dongle?
Is it another name of donkey?
