Description: quick "area" calculation tool

How Used: Like the tape measure - this tool would allow you to quickly calculate area by selecting points, or drawing a reference line.

Area plans and masking regions are too involved. Need a way to quickly calculate area- especially for mechanical conditions, i.e. Louvers, grating, plenum, etc.

The filled region tool can be used to get a quick area calculation.

But that requires actually drawing and then deleting something. Measure tools should do just that measure, and not require actually drawing additional geometry.

Being able to click and Measure Area icon tool and then click in an empty space and have the application go out and find the boundaries and report back an area would be extreamly beneficial on countless occasions.

I strongly echo Michael's request and was actually planning to submit this myself, but amd glad to see it has already been requested, though somewhat disillusioned that it is from one year ago, and it would appear not have been acted on. Perhaps it should be resubmitted... (not sure on the "policy" here)

This has been debated to death on other threads. There are so many ways to get area from objects this is redundant. BTW I never use the measure tool anyway. It could go away
