Revit has rooms. Rooms have a parameter called Department. Is there a way to graphically illustrate Departments and tag them? If this can't be done with departments then is there some other suitable Revit way of doing this?

Create a color scheme. Have the Color scheme associated to the Department parameter. Apply the color scheme to the view.
Yes, that's a great way to color code rooms by department, however I need to be able to tag them by department and have their gross areas tabulated. I know that the area plan can do this, but I was hoping to add something to my current view rather than creating a new view dedicated to that use.
Global Parameter applied to a detail component that lists the result?
Or do a schedule by floor and by department and place them over the area on the view?
Just some thoughts.
