    Default Picking the fixture after placing it on the model

    Why can't I pick the light fixture I just placed on the ceiling grid. It is greyed out.

    Thanks;
    Kim

    try setting your view to Wireframe, and see if you can select it then. also try turning off Floors and Furniture, if there is a carpet drawn as a floor, or a conf room table, it won't let you select thru them. try setting all the arch categories to 100% Transparent. it's most likely something is blocking you from being able to pick it. can you select it from a 3D or other views? could be a setting in your lighting template. you're not working in a Design Option, are you? Just a quick list of things it could be...

    you can make multiple layouts, or 'design options', like different furniture or ceilings, and it won't let you select items that are part of a design option until you edit the design option.

    Well after playing with the view range for most of the day I finally solved my problem. Seems that in this model I needed to set the cut level plane at a negative value in order to see and place fixtures. Never had to do that. It's like the reverse of what your supposed to do. Doesn't make sense but it works.

    Well if it was a "reflected ceiling plan" where the view is looking up, that sort of makes sense.
