Summary: Linux operating systems have been around for decades. Why can't we run AutoCAD on it?

Description: With Microsoft becoming more and more invasive and stealing more of your personal data than ever (https://www.tomshardware.com/news/windows-11-sends-user-data-to-third-party-services), forcing updates that ruin everything (https://windowsreport.com/windows-11-upgrade-bricked-pc/), cramming unwanted software into your Personal Computer (https://www.slashgear.com/windows-10-users-are-grumpy-over-forced-updates-and-unwanted-apps-18643135/), and being just a horrible company (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Microsoft)...I'm seeing more people flock to Linux.

I expect this trend to continue in the next decade.

I too have converted half of the PC's in my home to Linux operating systems, and have found it liberating to run an OS where I feel I took back ownership of my Personal Computer.

I'd like to see AutoCAD make their software run on Linux operating systems to benefit from an operating system that isn't Microsoft (or Mac).

People have asked for that for decades, and once upon a time it would have been doable -- I've run AutoCAD on three different Unix systems, so circa R11 it could have been ported, if Linux had been ready then.

In 2023, you'll need to show the C-suite at Autodesk "where's the money in Linux?" the overwhelming majority of Autodesk paying customers are companies, not 'people'. And corporations don't care about staff personal information.

Maybe take a look at ReactOS instead of Linux?
