If you were using Revit 2008 and below the solution provided would perfectly. If you are using 2009 or 2010 the solution doesn't work anymore. Take get a material that is a chain link you simply have to select the chain link material inside of your material library.

Would you be so kind as to attach the chain link fence you made as a railing? Or, would you please give a detailed explanation of how you did this? I am trying to make my own, but not having much success! Thanks!

Ahh I love the smell of chain link in the morning!

Check out the chainlink fencing I did in revit, not to bad shadows sky reflections and all. I have attached the revit model for you to play with at your convenience.

Looks like you accidentally hit the high wind speed simulator button. You can reset it under the Analyze tab.
