    Default section view

I have a section view in model space along with a plan view of a parking lot.
the layout view for the plan view is at 1"=20' and the section view layout is at 1"=8' (ex

I have the annotation for the vertical and horizontal scale to be displayed.
however, when the model space scale is set to 20 and the layout view for the section view is 8', (vert. exaggeration is 2)
my graph changes to vert of 1"=10 and horiz. 1:=20'. how do I fix this?

You don't. The Civil 3D display styles are dependent on the current drawing scale and will adjust the display of elements to match.

If you need to work on the cross sections in model space at your preferred scale, change the drawing scale to the desired setting. Repeat for the plan view in model space as needed.

I guess I wasn't clear in my explanation. Yes, you are right when I am in model space, but the problem is when I'm in paper space needing to plot.
Even though both layouts have their respective scales set correctly, if the model space scale
is set to 1" = 20' the section view layout will change its text to match that in the layout window.

    I've not seen this behavior.

Are the section views in a separate viewport from the plan view?

yes, they are. my work around is to make sure the model space scale is set to 1" = 8' when I plot.
that doesn't effect the plan view scale at all. it plots just fine.
