AutoCAD 2005 TIFF Image files - Image file not valid

We have some AutoCAD 2002 .dwg files that have TIF files attached and they open correctly, but when you open the same .dwg file in AutoCAD 2005 the tif images come up saying " Image file not valid "

Is there a new setting in AutoCAD 2005 that is treating images differently?

By putting the 2 ddl files in the directory solved the problem.
