I have a DWG that was created in version 2006, and when i try to open it in the same version, it says "Drawing file not vaild". I've tried a few different things, but I know I'm missing something simple. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

As a work-around, have you tried to insert the drawing into a fresh, empty dwg? If it does work, use the PURGE and AUDIT commands to clean things up. Be sure to purge register applications (RegApps), also.Originally Posted by gary.gentry
Or, try opening the DWG with the RECOVER command.

Can you post the file by any chance? May help to take a look at it...Originally Posted by gary.gentry
I have tried audit and recover. I don't know what RegApps is. Can you briefly explain? I can't open the drawing at all so how can I purge the Dwg? Thanks for the help.Originally Posted by Maverick91
I am a student and it is not my dwg. I doubt they will let me. I'll check.Originally Posted by jswantek

Yes, and it says that it is not able to recover selected dwg.Originally Posted by andy.manninen
