    Default Label Angle Parameter

I don't see any existing discussion on this. I have many doors on different angles. Normally the door tag is aligned with the door angle. As you know you can only select vertical and horizontal for the tag rotation. Is there any way to constrain a label? If I could constrain it to a reference line on an angle, I could give the angle a parameter, and be able to type in what angle I want the text at. I don't think it's possible though. Are there any other thoughts on how to tie a label to an angle parameter? Otherwise we could leave it as horizontal or vertical or make a different door tag family for each angle needed (maybe in 5 degree increments). I think that's a waste of time though.

If you're going to have doors inserted at multiple angles, I would suggest setting the tag to "Rotate with component" under the "Family Category and Parameters" window in the family editor. (Settings/Family Category and Parameters). What will happen, is that your door tag will align itself with the wall that the door is placed in, not with the door slab itself (assuming your door shows open on plan view). We usually only have walls at 90 or 45 degree increments, so we have only 2 tags to choose from to get the look we want (which is to have the tag parallel with the door slab and not the wall).

    Hope this Helps

Thanks a lot! This works great! I never checked the family parameters. I made two families, one that always stays perpendicular to the wall and one that always stays parallel with the wall (in the case of overhead doors) no matter what the wall angle. We have curved walls on this project.
