added file for reference in vault how to remove

i accidentally referenced the wrong surface file when i was check in my drawing, how do i remove the reference

remove the reference or the file?

remove the reference listing from the prospector tab of the tool space

If you haven't actually used it for anything you should just be able to right click and delete it.

i don't even have that option

i am talking about references listed under projects

You can erase the surface in the drawing. I thought you wanted to get rid of a surface already referenced to your drawing.

yes i can erase the surface form my drawing but how do i remove it from the tool space reference list.

When Vault can no longer find the surface, it will stop referencing the surface in your tool space reference list. Remove the original drawing, or delete the surface from that drawing (if for whatever reason you have a surface in a file with more than just the surface) as was mentioned earlier.
