OLESCALE command not working

Is anyone else having trouble with the OLESCALE command? It seems pretty simple, the command should scale the ole object so that the text in the object is the specified height but it NEVER works for me. Most of the time the object doesn't change at all. I even went so far as to make a copy of an object. I started with them at different scales then used this command to make them the same size. Even though both times I told it to make 14 pt Ariel Black text .175" high they came out different sizes. One was close (.166") the other one was 2/3 the size.
Any thoughts?
