Question Turn off OLE frame in AutoCAD 2004

Can someone please help me understand how to turn the frames off an OLE object?
I have this one computer that started to show the frames on the OLE (Word document) object. This is new and did not happen before. All the other machines in the office can plot the same file without showing the frame except this one?!
I can't find any publication to solve this issue and the "OLEframe" command is only introduced in 2005.

    Thanks

Going by (dodgy) memory here - I think you left-click inside the document then right-click on the frame and select Frame Off or similar.

Hi "okonforti.91529" ( Sorry, I do not know your real name )

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD Customization forum to this one, as I feel this particular forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

    Thanks, Mike

    Mike,
Yes, I read the thread title, and yes I read the original post.

Now please read the entire tip at the URL I posted. It specifically addresses the persistance of a frame on OLE objects in "earlier than 2005" versions and how to fix.

    Hi

Ok! here is the complete tip you referenced in your above post...

    6. AUTOCAD 2005 TIPS: OLE FRAME FRUSTRATION, SHEET SET SPY

A new system variable in AutoCAD 2005, OLEFRAME, may cause problems when you insert an OLE object in AutoCAD 2005, then open the drawing in an earlier version of AutoCAD. When you plot the drawing in the earlier version, the OLE object may have a frame that's impossible to get rid of. To fix, open the drawing in AutoCAD 2005 and reset OLEFRAME to 0. Thanks to Leonid Nemirovsky at BTN (Better Than Nothing) AutoLISP:
    http://home.pacifier.com/~nemi

And one from Autodesk: Stymied by a locked sheet set? Move your mouse cursor over the icon to see a tooltip with the user name and computer name of whoever has it locked.
Maybe I am missing something here ( mostly likely ), but the solution offered in the above tip appears to be open the drawing in AutoCAD 2005 and reset OLEFRAME to 0.

Please correct me if I am wrong on this.

    Have a good one, Mike

Ok, since you quoted it (I didn't want to do this due to copyright issues - it does say "Copyright (c) 2003 by CADALYST Magazine. Reproduction or distribution in whole or in part without written permission is prohibited." )

Yes, the solution is to open in 2005 and change the variable. The cause is also stated - this variable was set while the drawing was being edited in 2005.

Just because a person is not "2005 user" doesn't change the fact that this is a solution. We don't know the history of this drawing. It very well may have been opened in 2005 at some point in it's life and had OLEFRAME set to 1

If ole frame is turned off, then can the object still be selected?
