Angry Wheel Mouse button not Pan Realtime

    Hi everyone!

i have a small problem with my mouse...the wheel on my mouse is not the "Pan Realtime" command...

At school, when i press on the wheel of the mouse, a little hand appears and i can move my dwg without having to press on the pan icon in the zoom toolbar. Also, when i press the wheel twice it gives me the "zoom all" cmd...

But AT HOME, when i press on the wheel, it gives me a circle with four little arrows that i have to move around for the dwg to move also....and when i press twice on the wheel, nothing happens!

I'm using AutoCAD 2006 and i went in the CUI to try to fix my problem but i cant seem to be able to... I event typed the _'pan macro in the 3rd button macro line but it doesnt work. Can somebody help me??

    A "desperate" student!!

Make sure MButtonPan=1, you are not displaying scroll bars, and your mouse driver isn't interfering.

With my mother-in-law, I found that living on the opposite side of the world works well. As this solution is impractical for mouse drivers, I suggest you have a look at the button settings in the mouse item in Control Panel. This varies from one computer to another, depending on the mouse and driver, so it's difficult to be specific. Also, I have solved this with Microsoft mice in the past by finding the Troubleshoot option. That asks you to identify the program you're having the problem with, after which AutoCAD's middle button works properly. Unfortunately, recent versions of IntelliPoint have replaced this effective solution with a long series of irritating dumb questions that eventually lead nowhere useful.

[whine] Grrr! Microsoft mouse and driver design (e.g. tilt wheel - UGH!) is now so awful that I have given up on them altogether. After 20 years of happy Microsoft peripheral buying, I am now a Logitech customer. [/whine]

Actually, i solved my problem, with your last post...I thought the problem was within the CAD settings...but i went into the mouse settings and found out that the middle button option was set on "universal scroll" instead of "middle button"...changed it and it works fine now!! thanks a million!!

    A "happy" student!!

Drivers, drivers, when will they learn to do what we want, not what they're told?!

    Hi.
It sounds like Mbuttonpan is set to 0; try setting it to 1.

    Hey Charles,

Sounds to me like you have two different mouse driver programs eg.: Microsoft and Logitech run 2 different programs for customizing your mouse buttons. With the more advanced mouse systems you are able to apply different functions to your mouse buttons for each and every program you run on your machine. Have a look at the mouse types and see if they differ, maybe then try buying the same type of mouse for home use. You might in the meantime also try setting your "Microsoft Intellimouse" option.

Like this, but with many more irritating dumb questions:

    Microsoft Car Troubleshooter.

    What problem are you having?

[x] My car will not start.

    [ Next > ]

Have you tried turning the key?

[x] No, I am still having a problem.
[ ] Yes, this solves the problem.

    [ Next > ]

Have you tried turning the key the other way?

[x] No, I am still having a problem.
[ ] Yes, this solves the problem.
[ ] I want to skip this step and try something else.

    [ Next ] [ Back ] [ Start Over ]

Have you tried putting fuel in the car?

[x] No, I am still having a problem.
[ ] Yes, this solves the problem.
[ ] I want to skip this step and try something else.

    [ Next ] [ Back ] [ Start Over ]

This troubleshooter is unable to solve your problem.

You have run into a problem that this troubleshooter cannot help you solve.
For additional resources, click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Car Update.

[x] OK, I'll try updating to a new car.
[ ] Retry any steps that I skipped.

    [ Next ] [ Back ] [ Start Over ]

Thank you for using the Car troubleshooter.
