Question PDF Viewers used in your office

Hi AUGI CAD managers! I was wondering what PDF viewers you all are using in your offices? In our office this has been a challenge. My drafting team needs a pdf viewer that can 1) easily edit and markup architecturals 2) open multiple windows at the same time 3) preferably, be able to do scaled dimension readings (but this is not required).
In our office we have Tried Blubeam, but it was slow, and was way more than what we need. Adobe acrobat is just clunky and slow when it comes to marking up plans....
any suggestions? what are you all using?

If they need to measure, get quantities check dimensions markups should try DWF free download from autodesk made for marking up

AutoCAD has free viewers that allow you to do all that with DWG or DXF files allowing a licensed user to address your markups.
Why are you working with PDF files?

We have to use PDF because this is the format we receive from our clients. We are a shop drawing company, we receive plans via pdf, then draw shop drawings based off of those plans. It would probably be close to impossible to get our clients to send us CAD files or DWF's. Our drafters study the pdf plans our clients give us, mark them up with notes, and take dimensions from them as to provide accurate shop drawings.

Then I would still recommend Bluebeam. I've been using it for years. It may be slow to load the program, but using it is not slow, in my opinion. It also offers free markup collaboration via Studio. And it has out-of-the-box tools for the arch industry.

Do you have AutoCAD? Newer versions have the capability to link in a vector PDF that can be measured using dimensions (with snapping).

We use Bluebeam and do not generally find it to be slow. It's not as efficient as ACAD for running a string of dimensions, but I just created a string of 6 dimensions in less than a minute. And if I was doing this on a regular basis to print out for others to use, I would develop custom tools with the look I want (similar to creating dimension styles in ACAD).

Why don't you just convert the PDF to DWG?

I agree that attaching PDFs within AutoCAD is the best option in my experience. As long as the PDF has reliable dimensions to properly scale the image, the drafting staff already has proficiency using AutoCAD tools to overlay markup info on the PDF image and it’s easy to print and export a hybrid of both

I use Bluebeam for viewing and marking up pdf files. I create custom tool chests (markup tools and dimensionally scalable symbology, etc.), line styles, and stamps. Bluebeam has a lot of flexibility; is it perfect…NO, but it can do a LOT and is customizable.
Newer versions of AutoCAD (2019 and newer) can import vector-based PDF files (if they were printed/published from a cad program, meaning not scanned) from the insert ribbon or the command line. pdfimport
