Question Using the sheet set manager with multiple views?

Our firm plots sheets from 1 layout tab containing multiple sheet views. I would like to apply the SHEET SET MANAGER function to our system but am finding most tutorials and threads use a single sheet-single file standard.

Does anyone use multiple views as sheets within a single layout tab? I am sure this system is a bit archaic as we have not migrated through the sheet set evolution.

Can our companies systems be used within the SHEET SET MANAGER or must we develop a new file standard? I work for a shoring firm that uses a hybrid model of a civil survey and the structural building plan and compose our system within the model. We have implementing the annotation within 1 layout tab, as we see it, to be the quickest.

    Thanks

Question Re: Using the sheet set manager with multiple views?

    Hi rmorales.139884,
Can you tell me which Autodesk product (AutoCAD, revit?) you're using; so that I can move your question to a more suitable forum.
    Thank you,

As far as I know, you cannot use the SSM if you have multiple views in a single layout sheet. Each layout sheet is it's own sheet in the SSM.

    Hi guys,
It is high on our wish-list of things to add to the Sheet set manager, right?,

By the way I have moved this thread to this forum as I believe it will be better served here, outside the "New forum Users" area.

See this other thread for some ideas to get the ball rolling.

Well, it's on the wish list. We won't know how high on the wish list until it's been voted on.

What is the advantage to having many views on one layout tab?

We used to do this many versions ago but stopped when we had the ability to make multiple layout tabs in one drawing.

    Hello,

I am using Civil3D 2008, although, I am using the general ACAD 2008 Interface. Our company was going to explore CIVIL3D but very gradually.

We use a lot of the same annotation from sheet to sheet and find it easiest to copy and arrange within the next View, although, I may rearrange our systems, converting to multiple tabs, and applying the sheet set manager.

In the next Wish List voting we will have the chance to vote on retooling SSM to accommodate those of us who have our drawing files this way. We do multiple views on a tab (we are civil) and like to have the entire alignment in one view, although separate sheets. SSM is a very handy tool but if you have to adopt an entire file standard to use it (as your firm and my office must) it is very time comsuming. Watch for this in the next voting.

ok, i'm getting confused with this line of discussion. i have, and do place multiple views up the wazoo per 1 layout tab in my one SSM associated dwg file.
Sometimes, i get lost in my own thoughts and need to ask directions to find my way back.
