    Question Exploded-looking AR-CONC hatch pattern?

With my Autocad 2005 Map, My AR-CONC hatch looks like it's been exploded, where the triangular shapes are actually "v"s and the dots are too faded. I remember in an earlier version of Autocad, someone in the office had exploded the hatch to modify and create a new pattern and accidentally saved the exploded hatch. The hatch that came with my new autocad had not been tampered with but it looks exploded. I don't know how to get it fixed. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Richard

Are you working in a large coordinate system? State plane coordinates use a large coordinate systems and sort-of distort hatch patterns. Try changing your ucs origin closer to your geometry and try hatching again.
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.

    Hi Richard

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the Local User Groups Forum to this one as I feel this particular Forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

    Thanks, Mike

When I have "exploded" hatch patterns, here's what I do:

    1. Enter SNAPBASE command and pick a new origin point near the "broken" hatch pattern.

    2. Double-click on the pattern so that Hatch Editor dialog box appears, and then just the OK button. The hatch pattern will realign itself.

    3. Then use the MATCHPROP command and match other "broken" hatch patterns to the one you just fixed.

This prevents you frpom having to rehatch everything as well as going into the Hatch Editor for each pattern.

It's now June 2014 and I'm experiencing this issue in 2012LT.. why Autodesk hasn't fixed this issue is beyond comprehension. Providing or having a work-around system is ridiculous.

Maybe if you upgraded to the latest version you may see that the issue has been worked on and there is a Hatch Origin variable, should be in 2012 version as well.

In the ribbon of more current versions you can pick 'Set Origin' or click the 'Origin' drop-down six placement options as well as setting one as the default. With many of us on subscription now remembering when these issues were resolved can be tricky.

    There is nothing to "fix".
It's the result of rounding errors between the hatch origin and the hatch location.
Simply ensure that the hatch origin is at the hatch location.

Having said that, it wouldn't hurt to warn the user if large distances between the origin and hatch were detected.
